Most all waxes will work in jars including paraffin wax, soy wax, beeswax and gel wax.ч  If clear jars are being used gel wax is a good choice because it is clear and decorative items can be added for effect.ч  A good type wick to use with a jar candle isч  the one with small metal clips attached on one end.ч  They can be hot glued in the bottom of the jar in the correct location.

When all the components are assembled and the work area is prepared then the fun can begin.ч  The first step in the process is to heat the wax.ч  When wax is heated to the correct temperature its viscosity becomes similar to water and will just pour right into the container.ч  The one exception is gel wax.ч  It is a little different and you should just follow the manufacturer"s suggestions and all will be fine.ч  Candle wax should be heated in a double burner.ч  Now don"t think you must go out and spend a lot of money on a sophisticated device.ч  Two pots of varying size will do the job just fine.ч  Put water in the larger pot for heating and put the wax in the smaller pot which will be placed in the heated water of the larger pot.ч  Monitor the wax temperature and when it reaches the recommended level add your desired scents or colors and pour it into the prepared jar with a wick.ч  Just be careful with the hot wax and make sure you have a serviceable fire extinguisher handy..
